A new software solution is now available for download for Nokia mobile phone users, namely Nokia Notifications. Coming straight from the door of Nokia Beta Labs, the new application is meant to offer users an easy and convenient solution when it comes to managing call, message, and calendar notifications.

“Today we are releasing a new beta for a short trial. Nokia Notifications gathers missed calls, voicemails, messages, and missed calendar alarms and presents them in one list for you to manage at your convenience. Adding the widget to your homescreen removes the need to acknowledge individual notifications that may otherwise get in the way of doing other actions on your device,” a recent post on Nokia Beta Labs reads.

Nokia Notifications is based on a solution present with the company's Nokia E-series devices, which offered notifications at the bottom of the screen. However, the new Nokia Notifications widget comes with a nice range of improvements over its predecessor, while being developed to fit the Nokia N97 and Nokia N97 mini handsets.

The new Nokia Notifications is meant to bring together missed calls, voicemails and messages, as well as missed calendar alarms, while delivering them to users in a list that can be easily managed. The solution is installed as a widget on the handset's homescreen, and is meant to remove the need of having other notifications present on the phone, in an attempt to clear space for other actions.

“During this short beta trial, we are hoping to catch any remaining bugs before publishing at Ovi Store. We welcome any feedback you have, but keep in mind that only the most critical items will be addressed,” the aforementioned post continues. Those interested in the solution will find it available for download from Softpedia as well, via this link. In case one wishes to provide developers with feedback, one will have to go to the Nokia Beta Labs website for that.
