Nokia fans who wished that the Finnish company had taken the Android road will be pleased to know that the rumored Normandy smartphone has just gone live at one retailer.

While this doesn’t mean that Nokia Normandy is indeed going to be officially released on the market, at least it’s an indication that neither Microsoft nor Nokia has killed the project yet.

There have been lots of rumors surrounding Nokia’s first Android smartphone, codenamed Normandy, release and we’re still not sure whether or not the device will eventually go on sale.

WMPoweruser reports that Vietnamese blog site WinPhoneviet has just spotted the Nokia Normandy listed at one online retailer. Obviously, this is just a placeholder, but there are interesting details on the smartphone which are worth mentioning here.

For example, Vietnamese retailer The Gioididong states that Nokia Normandy will offer Google Play Store access, even though previous rumors have claimed that the smartphone will not have any Google apps and services installed.

The full specs list of the Normandy has been published as well, but we can’t really tell how accurate it is, so take it with a grain of salt.

Nokia Normandy is said to sport a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 854 pixels resolution and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and HD (720p) video recording.

As expected, the smartphone will offer dual-SIM support and will be powered by Android 4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box. There’s no mention of any “forked” Android version.

Hardware-wise, the Normandy will be equipped with a 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, an Adreno 302 graphics processing unit and 512MB of RAM. It will also pack 4GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Other highlights of the smartphone would include: HSDPA (7.2Mbps) and HSUPA (5.76Mbps), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as FM Radio, microUSB and 3.5mm audio jack.
