The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has joined India in becoming one of the first countries where Nokia's N96 Nseries flagship smartphone will be on sale. Nokia has recently announced that the N96 is set to hit the UAE market in the second week of September, hence users there don't have much to wait at all.

The most advanced Nseries device to date, Nokia N96 comes with a dual-sliding design and packs lots of features, including: a 2.8 inch TFT display with 16 million colors and a QVGA resolution, Symbian S60 3rd Edition, accelerometer, dedicated music and gaming keys, internal GPS, Wi-Fi, TV out and DVB-H TV receiver, a 3.5mm headset jack, a 5 Megapixel camera with auto focus, flash and Carl Zeiss lens, advanced audio capabilities, 16 GB of internal memory and microSD card support.

Like in India, where the N96 will have special content (including an Indian movie as well as about 50 MP3s), the Nseries smartphone has some extra goodies for the UAE too. More exactly, the handset will be pre-loaded with the Transformers movie (released last year by Paramount Pictures), which should make good use of the handset's high-end display and its 3D stereo speakers.

There is no word yet on whether Nokia wants to sell the N96 via the two UAE mobile operators too (Etisalat and du) or on whether the smartphone will be offered only free of any contract agreement.

Anyway, when available (next week), Nokia N96 will retail for 3,900 UAE dirhams, meaning about 1,070 USD or 735 Euros. This is among the highest N96 retail prices announced until now (if not the highest), but we should keep in mind the fact that the UAE is one of the world's richest countries and most of its inhabitants do afford to pay a hefty price for a product that in other countries would cost less.
