Black Nokia N95 coming soon

The 3G enabled version of Nokia N95 has just been released on the US market and can now be purchased from different stores. The black edition of the phone should also arrive soon, with 8GB of internal memory, but, until then, the 3G one is here to make the wait somewhat easier to bear.

The true competition between the iPhone and Nokia N95, considered to be one of its strongest competitors, should be that reached in official sales numbers. Apple's phone has reached a great popularity in the US and that is why it is difficult to believe that Nokia will be able to top it, despite the fact that its N95 smartphone is one of the most powerful devices in their line. The Nokia N95 will have an upgraded battery that is supposed to make it possible to use for a longer amount of time and also HSDPA on 850/1900 network bands. This means that it will be compatible with AT&T's 3G services. Not only does Nokia N95 bring this technology to top the iPhone, but it also comes free of any ties to a certain operator. In order to use its high data transfer capabilities, the user needs no special data package from AT&T. A regular MEdiaNet package will do the job perfectly.

The US version of the phone comes with a slightly different design, on top of the 3.6 Mbps of data transfer speeds that its HSDPA connection is capable of providing. It gave up the camera protection cover, as it showed a rather bulky figure and made room for the new, improved battery.

Nokia N95 is now available for purchase at the Nokia Flagship Stores in NYC and Chicago for the price of USD 700. No phone orders are accepted for this handset, which means that buyers will have to go to the stores in person to pick it up. The phone is available at this time only in its brown color, although the stores are waiting for the black one to arrive shortly as well.
