Although released more than one year ago, in March 2007, Nokia N95 has not yet been officially launched in Canada, but this will apparently happen on May 2, when Rogers Wireless will begin to offer the N95 to its subscribers.

According to Mobile Canada, the high-end Nseries handset will have a retail price of 699 Canadian dollars (which have about the same value as US ones). If these rumors turn out to be true, Nokia N95 will be the second 5 Megapixel camera phone to be offered by Rogers, after the Sony Ericsson K850i Cyber-shot flagship, already available for its customers.

Rumors only indicate the availability of the classic N95, hence the 8GB version is still out of Canadians' reach. However, the original N95 is, undoubtedly, one of the most advanced mobile phones released until now worldwide, and its availability via Rogers will surely make many users happy.

Nokia N95 runs on Symbian S60 3rd Edition and features both GSM and 3G (HSDPA) connectivity, offering fast data transfer speeds as well as fast Web browsing. Furthermore, the Nseries handset brings Wi-Fi, built-in GPS receiver, pre-installed maps, a 2.6 inch TFT display with 16 million colors and 240 x 320 pixels, mobile email, Instant Messaging, full HTML browser, TV out, Music player with various formats supported, 3.5 mm audio jack, stereo FM radio, Bluetooth 2.0 USB 2.0, a 5 Megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, flash, auto focus and video recording, plus microSD card support for up to 8GB.

Including its entirely owned subsidiary, Fido, Rogers Wireless has more than 7 million subscribers, being the largest mobile operator in Canada and the only one to offer GSM services. The other two important Canadian carriers, Bell and Telus, only offer CDMA services, therefore they can't offer phones like the N95.
