Nokia's big day on the US market too

North America has just received its special Nokia N95 version, packed with HSDPA performances aside from the performances that the European device was capable of bringing. It's not the 8GB version, with larger screen, but this device is not the first model that Nokia has released either.

Nokia N95 has been highly appreciated until now and will continue to be so as a result of the many efforts that the producer is making to best respond to the handset users' needs. This could be only the breakthrough of the device on the market, as the black, 8GB version of this phone has also been FCC approved. This means that those who can wait for just a little bit longer might have the chance of owning the most evolved N95 handset that is currently on the market.

"The acclaimed Nokia N95 has been recognized as the ultimate multimedia computer, allowing consumers to experience and customize a truly mobile lifestyle on their own terms. The addition of several updates to improve the speed and performance for North American customers means that the best just got even better", said William Plummer, Vice President, Sales and Channel Management, Multimedia, Nokia North America.

The transition through this HSDPA version of Nokia N95 is just as welcomed, as it manages to pack enough capabilities for making serious competition for the iPhone. Once the 8 GB Nokia N95 will hit the US, this device might become a real "iPhone killer". The most surprising aspect of this possibility is that Nokia's device does not even come with a touchscreen included, but manages to top and surpass the iPhone's performances in many points.

Nokia is seriously considering to start using touch sensitive display screens from now on in their handsets too and is making the needed steps towards turning it into reality. It is the only thing that Nokia N95 is missing for becoming the most evolved device available on the market, now that it has also received some important upgrades.

The handset has integrated GPS functionality with maps, 5 megapixel camera and DVD-like quality video. Moreover, it brings a 2.6 inch display, 3D graphics, built-in stereo speakers offering a 3D stereo effect, standard 3.5 mm audio jack, support for compatible microSD cards and mini USB for convenient data transfer.

Nokia N95 will start shipping in September to a growing number of independent retailers in major markets including New York, Los Angeles, Miami and San Francisco, as well as the Nokia Flagship Stores in New York and Chicago. The device will be available for the retail price of USD 700.
