iPhone 3G's launch in Canada seems to be a good thing not only for those who want to buy (or already bought) it, but also for the other mobile users who don't find Apple's device as attractive as it presents itself to be.
Joining Bell Mobility, which offers five of its Samsung handsets for
half the initial price, Rogers Wireless has cut the price of Nokia N95 8GB and is now selling the Nseries smartphone for only $199 with a three-year contract - exactly the same as the iPhone 3G. Compared to the original price of N95 8GB (namely
$399), the new one definitely represents a great deal for all those in need of a high-end handset.
The price discount on Nokia N95 8GB is available only with a contract for three years, hence those who don't want an agreement for such a long time will still have to pay Rogers a lot of money: $549 with a two-year contract, $619 with a one-year contract or $689 free of contract.
Released in Canada at the beginning of May, Nokia N95 8GB is a true multimedia monster smartphone. Its highlights include a 5 Megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, auto focus and flash, 8GB of internal memory, a 2.8 inch TFT display with 16 million colors, GPS and Nokia Maps, GSM and 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi, full HTML browser, Music and Video players and so on.
Besides the N95 8GB, Rogers has also reduced the price of Nokia 5310 XpressMusic, the thin candybar that can now be purchased for only $49 with a three-year contract agreement (as opposed to the
$99 initial price).
All in all, it's nice to see Rogers come up with some really good offers, and Canadian mobile users will surely take advantage of the new Nokia prices.
