Although Nokia officially confirmed that the N9 will not be available in the States through its usual channels, it looks like several retailers added the smartphone to their portfolios.

Amazon is the second major retailer that offers the Nokia N9, after Expansys introduced the handset last month for no less than $690 (510 EUR), unlocked and SIM free.

However, Amazon is now offering a better deal on the Nokia N9, so customers who could not afford to purchase the device via Expansys can grab it from Amazon a bit cheaper.

According to Amazon's webstore page, Nokia N9 is now available in stock for $650 (485 EUR) and ships for free with Super Saver Shipping.

It appears that the smartphone is sold by FGS Trading, a smaller retailer, and fulfilled by Amazon. This is probably one of the reasons that the N9 didn't got any cheaper than that. Another reason could be Nokia's strict pricing policy that doesn't leave room for discounts.

Nokia N9 features state of the art design. Minimalist and with only three external buttons, the N9 is by far the best looking smartphone manufactured by Nokia.

The bad news it that Nokia stated that there won't be another MeeGo sequel to the N9, and that this is the first and last phone with MeeGo released by the Finnish company.

Even though support for the N9 has been confirmed until at least 2015, and Nokia already delivered a consistent PR1.1 software update earlier this month, it's up to each and everyone to decided if this smartphone is worth buying or not.

Nokia N9 is equipped with a 1 GHz single core TI OMAP 3630 CPU, which is complemented by a PowerVR SGX530 graphics processing unit. It also packs 16 GB (or 64GB) of onboard memory, as well as 1GB of RAM. There's no microSD card slot for memory expansion though.

Nokia is expected to launch its Windows Phone lineup in the United States in early 2012, including the Lumia 800 and 710.
