Nokia N9, the first MeeGo-powered handset from the leading mobile phone maker, is now listed on the company's website in Italy, suggesting that it might make an official appearance on the market in the not-too-distant future, some of the latest reports on the matter point out.

When announced only several weeks ago, the mobile phone was said to be on its way to a limited number of markets around, with Italy not included among them.

However, it appears that the device might actually be released in more countries, since it already made its debut on the company's Italian site.

The list of 23 markets where the Nokia N9 was initially expected to arrive did not include a series of important markets for the company, such as the UK or US, as well as other European countries.

At the moment, Nokia's European website does not show that Italy would be one of the countries where Nokia N9 is set to hit shelves, which might suggest that other markets that were left out of this list could see the handset as well.

The mobile phone should arrive on the market sometime in September, some of the previous rumors on the matter suggested, with a price tag of between $660 and $750.

The handset will run MeeGo on 16GB and 64GB flavors, while boasting a large 3.9-inch touchscreen display, an AMOLED panel with Gorilla Glass protection.

The specifications list of this device also includes a 1GHz TI OMAP3630 CPU, along with 1GB of RAM, which should translate into increased performance capabilities, and support for NFC.

On the back, the new mobile phone packs a high-quality 8-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, one of the fastest smartphone cameras in the world, which can also shoot videos in HD.

One other appealing feature of this device would be its all touch design, which translates into the lack of buttons on the front. (via)
