Nokia prepares new smartphones

While other manufacturers concentrate all their "mobile powers" to create a single mobile device (I'm talking about Apple and its iPhone 3G), Nokia keeps on doing what it does best and it's preparing to release two new Nseries handsets, plus the already talked-about 5800 XpressMedia touchscreen phone, also known as Nokia Tube.

New unofficial photos with Nokia N85, Nokia N79 and Nokia 5800 have recently appeared on a Flickr account and they present real devices, not Photoshop-made ones.

After Nokia announced the N78 and N96 (the latter not being released yet), many users thought it would be long before the Finnish company would come up with other handsets from the Nseries family. Well, it seems that two new Nseries smartphones are already created, ready to hit the market when Nokia says so.

Nokia N85, as seen in the leaked images, seems to be the successor of N81, released back in November. Unlike N81 though, N85 has a dual-slide design, resembling the N95 and N96. Moreover, the handset includes a 5 Megapixel camera, probably similar to the one packed in the N96. Sure, this new smartphone is not officially confirmed to be N85, hence it might actually have another name. However, it's clear that it's a device from the Nseries family.

Nokia N79 comes in two colors, black and white, and it looks pretty unusual for a Nokia handset (although it has the overall look of a device made by the Finnish company). There's a Carl Zeiss camera packed in it (with lens covers, flash and an unknown number of Megapixels), but what's unusual is the handset's keypad and navigation pad. Anyway, aside from its looks, we don't know much about the (supposed) N79.

Nokia XpressMedia 5800, which was first leaked more than two months ago, is the first full-touchscreen handset created by Nokia. Its design is a simple one and among its features we have a 3.2 Megapixel camera and a new S60 Touch interface.

With these new photos leaked, it's almost certain that Nokia will soon be announcing at least one of the above-mentioned handsets. While we're waiting for that, we can study more carefully the pictures with the device:
