The high-end Nokia N82 has been declared today as the "Best Mobile Imaging Device in Europe 2008" by the most important photo and imaging press association in Europe, TIPA (acronym for Technical Image Press Association). This award comes to officially recognize an already known fact: N82 packs one of the most advanced photo cameras ever integrated into a mobile phone.

Using Carl Zeiss lens and featuring Xenon flash, auto focus, 20x digital zoom and geotagging, the 5 Megapixel camera of the Nseries handset is capable of offering high-quality images in almost any conditions. Besides the exquisite camera, N82 also comes with a 2.4 inch TFT display with 16 million colors and 240 x 320 pixels, advanced music and Web capabilities, as well as expandable memory for up to 8GB.

Talking about the award winning phone's camera, the TIPA jurors said, "This Carl Zeiss Tessar focuses from 10cm to infinity and produces sharp prints up to and beyond A4 size. Several scene modes are also available to optimize the Nokia N82 for great images, whether shooting portraits or night shots."

Juha Kokkonen, Director for Nokia Nseries devices, proudly declared, "We are very excited to hear that the Nokia N82 has been recognized for its excellent imaging features. The Nokia N82 is an excellent example of how converged devices entirely change the way people contribute to and share on the internet by combining strong camera capabilities with built-in A-GPS and an array of connectivity features."

Launched in November 2007, Nokia N82 is available in two colors, silver and black, and can be bought for a retail price of about 400 euros (somewhere around $640). The phone is already among the most wanted high-end devices on the mobile market, and today's TIPA award will probably make it a craved handset for an even longer period, despite the fact that other advanced handsets are constantly released.
