Nokia N8, the first smartphone to bring the Symbian^3 platform to the market, is now available for purchase at Dell with a lower price tag than on Nokia's website, or on Amazon. The Green flavor of the handset can be acquired for only $449 from Dell, though other flavors are $100 more expensive than this.

Undoubtedly, the Nokia N8 seems to be a pretty appealing device, and the $100 price cut should attract users on its side, even if only the green flavor sports the lower cost.

The Nokia N8 is the latest flagship device from the Finnish mobile phone maker, and also the first one to run under the new Symbian^3 OS, though other handsets powered by the platform were also released, including the Nokia C7, C6-01, or the E7.

Moreover, this is the first device from Nokia to include a 12MP camera, with HD video recording capabilities. The smartphone comes with a nice range of other high-end multimedia features too.

“Nokia N8 is a high-tech device which offers video recording in HD, plus instant video editing, a 12 megapixel camera and the ability to upload video to share with your friends and family,” Dell notes on its website.

“The Nokia N8 also packs a 3.5-inch touchscreen, voice-guided navigation from Ovi Maps, apps from Ovi Store and an impressive design. The Nokia N8 lets you shoot HD video in 720p resolution right on your phone, while preloaded editing software makes it easy to instantly edit your video.”

Multichannel 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound was also included into the mix, as well as HDMI output, with the possibility to connect the device to compatible TV or computer devices for HD content playback.

The mobile phone also comes with fast access to social networking sites, as well as with support for a wide range of applications, which can be downloaded from the Ovi Store.
