Mobile phone carrier T-Mobile UK has just announced the release of a software update for two of its latest handsets, namely the Nokia N8 and Nokia C7.

According to the wireless carrier, the new software solution comes straight from Nokia, and is meant to fix a series of issues that users might have been experiencing on their new devices.

Nokia have just released a new software update for the N8 & C7 handsets. This new update is a fix for some N8 devices that have the software version 011.012. & possibly some new C7 devices,” the carrier notes in a post on its support website.

According to the said post, some early adopters of Nokia N8 and Nokia C7 reported crashes with their devices, as well as locking ups, and the new software solution was released to fix both of them.

Users interested in performing the software update on their devices should do the following, T-Mobile notes:

Press the Menu key, Select Applications, Select SW Update, Phone Apps Update 3302Kb (selected with a green tick), Select Options / Start Update or press the play key to start download, Software will download, phone will restart when installed. However, before starting the update process, users should consider performing a backup of all data on the device, so as to make sure that no important files are lost during the installation process.

“As always we would recommend that you back up any data before any update, although we have been assured that this will not result in a loss of information,” the wireless carrier notes.

The Nokia N8 and C7 are the first mobile phones that Nokia pushed to the market with the new Symbian^3 operating system on board.
