Nokia N8, the latest high-end smartphone Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia brought to the market during the ongoing year, is set to land on shelves in Singapore on November 5th, on the airwaves of wireless carrier SingTel. The operator would have the Nokia N8 exclusively for four weeks.

In addition to being sold in Singapore via SingTel, the Nokia N8 will also be made available for purchase via Nokia Stores and Nokia appointed retail outlets starting with November 5th, the carrier announced.

The new device, the first smartphone to run under the new Symbian^3 operating system, comes to the market with a large touchscreen display, complemented by great multimedia features, enhanced connectivity options, and more.

The new device comes with a 12-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with Carl Zeiss Tessar optics, Xenon flash and HD quality video recording capabilities.

The handset also comes with a 3.5” AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n) connectivity, Wi-Fi calling via UMA, GPS, Bluetooth (3.0), and support for 3G networks.

Nokia N8 is powered by a 1200mAh BL-4D battery that can offer up to 12.5 hours of talk time or up to 16 days of standby time in GSM mode.

Access to the Nokia Ovi Store is also included into the mix, so that users can download various applications for the handset. Moreover, the phone comes with global Ovi Maps for walk-and-drive navigation.

Other specifications of the new device include 16GB mass memory, a micro SD card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space, 256 MB of RAM, and 512 MB of ROM.

The phone also sports a built-in HDMI interface, so that one can play music, videos and images through HDMI-compatible televisions and home theater systems.

“SingTel will introduce new N’tertainment 3G Flexi price plans for the Nokia N8. These plans include free local incoming calls and bundled data usage, as well as free AMPed and MobileTV service,” the wireless carrier announced.

Along with Nokia N8, the wireless carrier is set to offer its users one month’s free subscription to its ESPN Mobile TV service.
