Wireless carrier Orange UK has made available for for purchase on its airwaves a new mobile phone with HD Voice capabilities, the Nokia N8. The first handset from Nokia to be released on shelves with the new Symbian^3 operating system on board, the N8 was made available for free at Orange on monthly plans that start at £32.50.

This is not the first HD voice-enabled smartphone at Orange UK, nor will it be the last one, that's for sure. One of the latest such devices was the Samsung Omnia 7, with runs under Microsoft's new Windows phone 7 operating system.

With HD Voice, the new Nokia N8 should offer enhanced audio quality on Orange's network to all users who purchase it, as the technology is meant to reduce noise and offer better communication features to users.

For those who might have not encountered the Nokia N8 until now, we should note that it comes with a 3.5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display, as well as with a 12MP photo snapper with video recording capabilities.

Here's what the wireless carrier has to say on the new device:

"Where do we start? Maybe with the 3.5-inch AMOLED fully capacitive touchscreen with proximity sensor and scratch resistant glass display, making calls, text and online communication both quick and enjoyable.

Or maybe with the 12 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and HD video functions to capture any moment with clarity. Add Bluetooth 3.0 with the Symbian operating system and you have a phone to be reckoned with. Introducing the Nokia N8." The specifications list of this handset also includes 3G and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g connectivity options, along with FM radio, 3.5 mm audio jack, built-in GPS receiver and more.

The Nokia N8 comes to the market with 16GB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

The HD Voice-enabled Nokia N8 is available for purchase from Orange's website here.
