While many Nokia fans hoped and still hope that the company will enter the smartphone market once again, the Finnish giant launched its first Android tablet, the N1.

Unfortunately, Nokia only released the N1 in China, and although it promised the tablet would eventually make its way to other markets, it's still not available in other countries.

It's understandable that the Finnish company wants to tap into the largest market in the world, but a tablet with Nokia's logo on it would be popular just about in any country assuming the price is right.

Anyway, Nokia won the bet since the N1 sold out in 4 minutes in China at launch. According to the company, no less than 20,000 tablets were sold during that time, which is quite impressive for Nokia's first product.

The good news is Nokia is now turning its eye to other markets where its N1 tablet could sell well and the first country to get it is Taiwan.

Although not far from China, Taiwan marks the availability of Nokia's N1 tablet outside the Mainland. Sadly, it's unclear when exactly the N1 will be launched in other countries.

Still, it's worth mentioning that Nokia N1 is now available in Taiwan for $270 (€245), slight higher than the Chinese price ($257 / €234), a new report confirms.

One of the few tablets to pack Type-C reversible connectors

Designed by Nokia and manufactured by Foxconn, the N1 sports a 7.9-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 1536 x 2048 pixels resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

On the inside, the tablet is equipped with a 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor, a PowerVR G6430 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM. The slate packs 32GB of internal memory, but lacks microSD card slot for memory expansion.

There's also a 8-megapixel camera on the back that features autofocus and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for selfies.

Nokia N1 is powered by a non-removable 5,300 mAh battery and comes with Type-C reversible connector, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB 2.0.
