Nokia keeps on marching in its quest to conquer the global mobile music market, and today it has launched a new Music Store portal, this time in France. Le French Music Store is the eighth one, coming after the stores open in the UK, Germany, Italy, Finland, Ireland, the Netherlands and Australia (the last one being launched yesterday).

The French Store allows users to search, find, listen and download more than 2.5 million songs, from both international and local artists (who are very important for France). The Store can be accessed at this address, from a PC or from a compatible Nokia handset like Nokia N82, Nokia N81 8GB and Nokia N95 8GB.

To download a single track, visitors must pay 1.0 Euro, while for a whole album the prices start at 10.00 Euro. For a monthly fee of 10.00 Euro, Nokia provides unlimited access to its entire music catalogue. Also, the Finnish company offers free tracks every week, for all of the Store's visitors.

"The music industry isn't just about selling songs; it is also(and especially) a way to share new musical experiences," says Eric Munier, music activities manager, Nokia France. "Nokia aims to provide the best music experience by building services into its mobile devices to satisfy users who want to be able to access their music collections anytime, anywhere, and for a reasonable price."

Moreover, talking about Nokia's relation with France, Mr. Munier added, "The opening of the Nokia Music Store will also be an opportunity to introduce Nokia to the music industry in France. We look forward to cooperating with French labels and artists. In this context, the Nokia Music Store will allow artists to talk about their musical world and what they're working on. Free songs will also be available each week in order to discover new talents."
