Nokia opened its first Music Store portal for Asia today, in Singapore, bringing Singaporean music lovers 24/7 access to millions of songs, both from their Nokia phone and from their PCs. The tracks offered by Nokia belong to international artists as well as to local ones and represent one of the most comprehensive online music data bases launched in Singapore.

The new Music Store (found at this address) is the ninth launched by Nokia and it comes after the ones from the UK, Finland, Germany, Italy, Ireland, the Netherlands, Australia and France.

Nokia partnered with important Asian independent labels for the Singapore Music Store (Rock Records Singapore, Ocean Butterflies Music and RS Digital, among others), to offer the best possible collection of songs. Therefore, besides music from the big international labels and the Singaporean ones, users will find Chinese, Thai or Malay music.

"With the rising demand for digital music in Singapore, Nokia Music Store increases the options for consumers by leaps and bounds, as well as brings the artists closer to their audience through their mobile device, an intimate platform that is always with them", says Gary See, Managing Director, Universal Music Singapore.

Music fans can browse, search, listen and download tracks either from their desktop computers or from Nokia handsets like Nokia N81, Nokia N82 or Nokia N95 8GB. The Music Store features an easy to use interface, hence users will have no problem accessing it and finding what they need.

For a single track, users will have to pay 2.0 Singapore dollars, while full-length albums can be bought for prices starting at 16.00 Singapore dollars. Also, for the price of an album (16.00 SGD), users can have access to unlimited PC streaming from the Music portal. Any track or album can be bought in various ways: using credit cards, vouchers or AXS machines. Also, Nokia offers, on a regular basis, free tracks and new albums.

All in all, Singaporean mobile users have now a new online portal that will surely help them discover and listen to more music than before.
