Today, Nokia announced the availability of its free streaming service Nokia Music for Lumia users in the United States.

The Music experience is available for free exclusively on the Nokia Lumia devices, enabling users to benefit from a simple and delightful way to enjoy music.

The service provides users with the possibility to stream music from a suite of more than 150 exclusive playlists curated and kept up to date by a team of US musicologists.

“The playlists span a wide spectrum of musical genres from underground Detroit house tracks to New York Philharmonic favorites. Nokia Music also offers playlists created by global artists such as Lana Del Rey, Lady Gaga and Rihanna,” Nokia announced.

Additionally, the service provides users with the possibility to come up with their own soundtracks by selecting the Nokia Music ‘CREATE’ function.

The functionality was designed to access a library of millions of songs and generate playlists based on the artists that users like the most.

“Completely advertisement-free, and requiring no registration or subscription, Nokia Music lets consumers immerse themselves in the dulcet tones of their favorite artists without being disrupted,” Nokia announced.

The company also noted that the Nokia Music playlists would also be available for offline listening, so that users could access them at all times, regardless of where they are.

“To enhance their music experience further, consumers can use Nokia Music’s ‘GIG FINDER’, which locates a consumer’s position and pinpoints live concerts, gigs and shows taking place in their local area, taking their level of interaction with their favorite artists beyond the playlist and Nokia Music’s mp3 store,” Nokia notes.

The Nokia Music application is now available for download for all owners of a Nokia Lumia 900 or Lumia 710 smartphone in the United States. The app can be found in the Windows Phone Marketplace and is up for download for free.

The Finnish handset vendor also unveiled that it has partnered with AT&T and Green Day for promoting the band’s new album, Uno. Nokia Music for AT&T consumers will benefit from exclusive Green Day playlists, as well as from an exclusive concert.
