Nokia announced that AIS Thailand, the biggest mobile operator from Thailand, selected Nokia's Intellisync Mobile Suite to be its standard platform for mobile applications. AIS Thailand will be able to provide, with the Nokia solution, mobile email and various other business applications to their corporate clients. Furthermore, the operator will start offering, as part of its phones portfolio, the Nokia E51 business smartphone.

"Mobile working is increasingly important wherever business is conducted. The efficiencies and the cost savings it delivers are important criteria
for our business customers," said Mr. Yip Hon Mun, vice president of marketing, Enterprise Solutions, AIS. "We have selected Nokia Intellisync Mobile Suite as our standard mobility platform given the modular structure of the mobileware which means that it can grow and be customized according to the evolving mobility needs of our customers today and tomorrow."

The offered services will benefit from integrated device management, to simplify configuration and administration of the mobile devices in use and to provide effortless and cost-effective deployment of mobile services.

"AIS Thailand shares Nokia's vision that mobile infrastructure plans should fit into the overall IT strategy for an organization," said Mathia Nalappan, vice president, Enterprise Solutions, Asia Pacific, Nokia. "We recommend that all businesses take a similar, more strategic approach towards mobility. Done right, an organization can gain advantage by improving speed and quality of service, while encouraging collaboration and communication between employees, customers and partners."

Nokia Intellisync Mobile Suite provides access to many powerful collaboration tools like email, calendar, contacts, file and data synchronization, device management and business applications. Part of the Nokia Intellisync Mobile Suite, Nokia Intellisync Wireless Email service can run on any kind of device platform (Pocket PC, Symbian or Palm) and works on different groupware environments: Microsoft Exchange, ISP, Groupwise or Lotus Notes. Besides the Nokia Eseries portfolio, the email solution supports a variety of different other devices.

The Nokia E51 smartphone is part of Nokia's Eseries portfolio of business optimized phones that support enterprises' business mobility strategies. Like Nokia E61i, Nokia E65 and Nokia E90 Communicator, the Nokia E51 phone allows business users to communicate, collaborate and operate both from the office and remotely.
