Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia and Network Norway have announced today that the Nokia Messaging, the phone maker's push email service, will be introduced in Norway for the first time on the airwaves of Network Norway, while also marking the debut of the service in Scandinavia. According to the two companies, Network Norway subscribers will be able to start benefiting from Nokia Messaging in July.

“Applications like Nokia Messaging contribute to easier mobile living for our customers, and we're happy to be the first to deliver this service in Norway. We believe our customers will find this service appealing, both in terms of user-friendliness and price,” says Arild E. Hustad, CEO at Network Norway.

Nokia Messaging is an easy-to-use push email service that is also easy to set up, and which offers customers the possibility to use up to ten personal email accounts on the same mobile phone. Through the new agreement between Nokia and Network Norway the carrier's subscribers will be able to benefit from leading consumer solutions for email, including Gmail, Windows Live Hotmail and Yahoo! Mail, as well as from solutions offered by local email service providers.

The new service enables users to read, send, forward and reply to emails, while also offering them the possibility to download, read and attach files directly to and from their handset. In addition, the push-technology that comes with Nokia Messaging is meant to ensure that emails are delivered fast on the device as soon as they arrive on the server.

“Nokia wants to make mobile email available for as many people as possible, and the agreement with Network Norway is an important milestone in this work. With Nokia Messaging, we meet people's need for access to email whenever they want, wherever they want,” says Christophe Joyau, head of services, Nokia Scandinavia.

The recently launched Nokia E75 already fully integrates the service, and upcoming Nokia models such as the Nokia E55, Nokia E52 and Nokia N86 8MP will also include it. According to the mobile phone maker, there are 19 S60 devices that already support the service, and it works on handsets like the Nokia E71 and Nokia N95 8GB as well.
