Nokia has just cut up to 15% of Lumia smartphones’ prices in Russia. The marketing move should not surprise anyone, as the Finnish company is preparing to launch new devices in the coming months.

Obviously, this is meant to make room for the new Nokia Lumia smartphones, which are expected to arrive this summer.

As WMPoweruser points out, the only devices that have yet to be discounted are the Lumia 520 and Lumia 720, which are not even available on the market.

Aside from that, most Lumia smartphones powered by Windows Phone 7 and 8 have been discounted up to 15% and are now available for the following prices:

- Nokia Lumia 920 – 21,990 rubles ($696 / €535); - Nokia Lumia 820 – 16,990 rubles ($540 / €415); - Nokia Lumia 620 – 10,490 rubles ($330 / €255); - Nokia Lumia 710 – 7,490 rubles ($235 / €180); - Nokia Lumia 510 – 7,490 rubles ($235 / €180).

This won’t be the last price cut for these Lumia smartphones, but some of them might disappear from the shelves until the next discount, so those interested in grabbing a cheap Windows Phone device might want to hurry.

WMPoweruser also reports that some of the Lumia smartphones not yet listed above are available for discounted prices at various Russian retailers. For example Nokia Lumia 800 is now up for purchase for 11,990 ($380 / €290), while old Nokia Lumia 610 costs only 7,490 rubles ($235 / €180).

Windows Phone gained an important market share in some countries, including Russia and India, in the last couple of months.

Most was gained due to aggressive pricing and the fact that Nokia has a much bigger portfolio now, so that customers get to choose for a more varied price range.

The upcoming Nokia devices can only help the Finnish handset maker get a much bigger market share in these countries. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
