Nokia has just published its financial results for the third quarter of 2013 and things are starting to look great for the Finnish company for the first time in a long time. Unfortunately for the handset maker, this comes rather late, as Nokia has recently accepted an acquisition offer from Microsoft.

According to the interim report, Nokia sold more than 8.8 million Lumia smartphones in Q3 2013, of which no less than 1.4 million units in North America. That’s a close to 400% increase in sale in comparison with last year’s report.

In the same piece of news, Nokia announced that the volume of mobile phones sales increased 4% quarter-to-quarter to 55.8 million units thanks to the launch of the cheapest feature phones available on the market, including Nokia 105, 210 and Asha 501.
