Nokia is about to start the rollout of the highly anticipated Lumia Black update for some of its high-end smartphones. Unfortunately for most Windows Phone users, the update will be initially deployed in China, while the rest of the countries will get it a few weeks later.

WMPoweruser reports that Chinese blog site WPDang claims that Nokia Lumia Black will be pushed in China beginning next week. The Lumia 1020 and Lumia 925 will be the first smartphones to receive the major upgrade, followed by other handsets in the coming months.

WPDang mentions January 8 as the possible date for the Nokia Lumia Black update rollout in China, so we will keep an eye out for any details on the upcoming release of the upgrade.

For those unfamiliar, Nokia Lumia Black brings lots of new features and improvements, including RAW image support, Bluetooth 4.0 compatibility and more glance screen customization options.
