14 DAY TRIAL // Nokia Lumia 929 hasn’t been officially released as of now (it hasn’t even been confirmed as a real device for the time being, to be more precise), but it seems that one lucky user has already had the chance to purchase a unit.
Someone in Mexico reportedly had the opportunity to snag a Nokia Lumia 929 before it was made official, Phone Arena reports. Said person also unveiled some more details on what the handset will have to offer to those who purchase it.
Unfortunately, there’s no telling on whether the device is indeed the real deal, or if it is only a prototype unit or it is packing final hardware.
The smartphone is expected to arrive on shelves with a 5-inch touchscreen display, as well as with hardware specifications that would make it a worthy competitor for high-end Android-based devices out here.
The phone is said to be running under the latest flavor of Microsoft’s mobile operating system, namely Windows Phone 8 GDR3, which means that it will also have a nice range of software capabilities to deliver to those who purchase it.
Rumor has it that the phone is set to arrive on shelves sometime in mid- to late-December, and that it will be a Verizon exclusive. Amazon, for example, will have it up for sale starting with December 20, new reports suggest.
The same as the Nokia Lumia 1520, the upcoming Lumia 929 should feature a 20-megapixel PureView camera on the back, which will provide users with a great imaging experience. It will also feature a 1.6MP front camera.
The unannounced smartphone is also said to pack a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, along with 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal memory. No microSD memory card slot has been included.
Furthermore, it should feature support for LTE networks, along with the usual set of connectivity capabilities and sensors. Hopefully, an official confirmation on it will emerge soon, so stay tuned.
