The long-rumored Nokia Lumia 928 smartphone for Verizon Wireless appears to be getting closer to its official launch as a leaked press render with the device is now available for your viewing pleasure.

The handset, rumored to be en-route to this United States-based operator since several months ago, appears set to arrive on shelves with looks similar to those of the Lumia 920, though with a slightly modified, slimmer body.

As can be seen in the photo attached to this article, available courtesy of Twitter user @evleaks, the smartphone will have about the same design as the current flagship Windows Phone 8 handset from Nokia, though it would also sport the Verizon logo on the front.

Furthermore, the phone will feature the carrier’s 4G LTE mark on the back plate, which confirms that it will be able to provide users with a fast Internet experience while on the go.

Additionally, the leaked press photo with the smartphone confirms that there will be xenon flash packed next to its main camera, as previous rumors suggested, a recent post on The Verge notes.

Other specs of the Lumia 928 include a 4.5-inch OLED display, which might deliver the same HD+ resolution as the Lumia 920, along with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor from Qualcomm.

Nokia is also said to have included 1GB of RAM inside the mobile phone, along with 32GB of internal memory, while designing its body to be only 10.2mm thin (the Lumia 920 measures 10.7mm in thickness).

Nokia Lumia 928 will use the same polycarbonate casing as the already available smartphone, as the Finnish handset vendor is saving the aluminum frames for upcoming phones, it seems. The phone will also sport a slightly curved back.

On Verizon’s 4G LTE network, the new Windows Phone 8 device is expected to offer support for simultaneous voice and data, which should make its adopters quite happy.

Apparently, Lumia 928 is set to make an official appearance later this month, as Verizon and Microsoft are almost done with its testing, and should feature Windows Phone 8 GDR2 (General Distribution Release) right from the start.
