Starting today, Verizon Wireless customers can purchase a new Windows Phone 8 device on the network of their wireless carrier, namely the Nokia Lumia 928, which was made official only last week.

The handset arrives at this operator with support for 4G LTE, and with a price tag that has been set at $99.99 (€78) upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement.

Users who would like to grab the mobile phone free of contract will have to pay no less than $499.99 (€388) for it.

Currently listed on this page on the wireless carrier’s website, the Nokia Lumia 928 is set to ship to users who order it by May 20. It is available in Black and White flavors.

Lumia 928 was launched as the specific Verizon flavor of the Lumia 920 that went official last year, but which landed in the United States only at AT&T. The new smartphone packs a different, slimmer design, while also being lighter than the original.

However, the hardware specifications of the device remain mostly similar to those of Lumia 920, including the large 4.5-inch touchscreen display and the 1.5GHz dual-core processor that is complemented by 1GB of RAM.

The specifications list of the device also includes an 8.7-megapixel photo snapper with full HD video recording capabilities, as well as a front camera for making video calls.

“Relive your favorite moments by documenting them in photos and video worth sharing,” Verizon notes on its website.

“The Verizon exclusive Nokia Lumia 928 features optical image stabilization, a high–performance loudspeaker and Carl Zeiss optics, helping you capture events in low light. Share quickly with 4G LTE and this Windows Phone 8 smartphone.”

Nokia Lumia 928 also sports 32GB of internal memory, Wi–Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n connectivity, Bluetooth 3.0, NFC, GOS receiver, wireless charging capabilities, the usual set of sensors, as well as a 2000 mAh Lithium Polymer battery that can deliver up to 17.7 hours of usage time, or up to 21.38 days of standby time.
