Users in Australia will soon be able to enjoy the features and capabilities of Nokia’s latest Windows Phone 8 flagship device, the Lumia 925, as it is set to hit shelves at two major carriers in the country, namely Telstra and Optus.

According to a recent article on WMPoweruser, the handset will become available for purchase at Telstra on July 30, while expected to be released via Optus on August 1.

The two wireless carriers have already unveiled plans to add the device to their offerings, and even confirmed its pricing.

“Consumer customers can purchase the Nokia Lumia 925 from Tuesday 30 July 2013 on a $60 (€42.4) Every Day Connect plan with a $6 handset repayment per month for 24 months (after using their MRO bonus),” Telstra announced.

The plan includes “$600 (€424) worth of included calls and MMS, unlimited SMS and 1GB of data, all to standard Australian numbers (excludes use overseas) each month. Minimum cost is $1,584 (€1,120) ($66/month) and 2 minute standard call is $2.38, excess data $0.10/MB.”

Users interested in the Nokia Lumia 925 will also be able to purchase it contract-free starting with July 17 via select retailers, at $699 (€494) outright.

The new mobile phone comes to the market with a 4.5-inch touchscreen display, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor inside, 1GB of RAM, 16GB / 32GB of internal memory, an 8.7-megapixel PureView photo snapper on the back, and front camera for video calling.

The handset sports almost the same hardware capabilities as the Lumia 920, but a different outer design, which includes an aluminum stripe around its edge, functioning as an antenna.

“Along with its improved aesthetics, we’re also seeing a jump in camera quality from Nokia with this handset incorporating the new Nokia Smart Camera mode which takes up to 10 shots at once making that action shot and perfect angle easy to capture,” Telstra notes.

“The 925 works amazingly well in lowlight conditions, while the Gorilla Glass coated AMOLED display makes for awesome clarity and a screen that’s easier to see in the sunlight.”
