Two of the best Windows Phone 8 handsets available on the market, Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC 8X, are now available for free at Microsoft Store.

However, customers who wish to take advantage of this offer are required to commit to a new two-year agreement at AT&T. Check it out here.

Unlike Amazon Wireless, Microsoft is making the same offer to both new and existing customers eligible for upgrade.

Keep in mind that only the 8GB version of HTC 8X (Blue and Lime Light) are up for grabs for free at Microsoft, whereas the 16GB model (Blue) is priced at $100/ €75 on 2-year terms.

Nokia fans should also know that the Lumia 920 is available in black, red and yellow, so now white and cyan for now.

According to WMPoweruser, this amazing deal is only available online for March 21, though Microsoft might decide to extend the deal for the next few days.

HTC 8X and Nokia Lumia 920 are the most popular and the best-featured Windows Phone 8 handsets.

Obviously, there’s the Samsung ATIV S, which seems to be on par with the Lumia 920 when it comes to specs, but it packs an inferior camera.

Nevertheless, Windows Phone fans who don’t mind committing to a long-term plan should hurry up and take advantage of this offer while it’s still available.

Given the fact that both smartphones are offered for free, the obvious choice for any customer would be the Nokia Lumia 920. However, some might prefer smaller, lighter devices such as the HTC 8X.

Still, keep in mind that the Lumia 920 packs a top-notch 8-megapixel rear photo snapper with Carl Zeiss optics, PureView technology, dual-LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.

In addition, the smartphone boasts a stunning 4.7-inch PureMotion HD+ ClearBlack display with HD (720p) resolution, while the HTC 8X sports a smaller 4.3-inch Super LCD2 display.
