Nokia and Microsoft promised a few months ago that an update to Nokia Lumia 920 would improve some of the phone's features and would fix some of the bugs found in Windows Phone 8.

Dubbed Portico, the first Windows Phone 8 update was rolled out a few weeks ago to Nokia Lumia 920 units in the United States and Canada.

The Finnish company announced that the rest of the world would receive the Portico update beginning February 2, though we're not sure whether it would be launched at the same time in all regions.

However, it appears that Nokia has already decided to ship all Lumia 920 units with Windows Phone 8 out of the box, the folks over at WPCentral claim.

Windows Phone 8 Portico adds lots of stability fixes and camera improvements, as well as performance enhancements. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
