Those of you living in India and owning a Nokia Lumia 920 probably remember than Microsoft India announced less than two weeks ago that Windows Phone 8.1 and Lumia Cyan update would arrive on this particular smartphone sometime in September.

However, it looks like the company may have gotten it wrong, which wouldn’t be the first time. According to WPCentral, lots of Nokia Lumia 920 owners in India have already started to receive the Lumia Cyan update on their smartphones.

In fact, it appears that Microsoft has started to deploy the Windows Phone 8.1 update with Lumia Cyan to even more countries begging yesterday.

The information has been confirmed by Nokia Canada, which stated in a tweet that Lumia 920 is now eligible for Windows Phone 8.1 upgrade.

After reporting the news, WPCentral got more comments confirming that the update is in fact available in many more countries, including India.

According to these reports, Nokia Lumia 920 owners in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Canada, India and the UK should start receiving the Lumia Cyan update along with Windows Phone 8.1.

The update may be available in other countries as well, but for the time being only the ones mentioned earlier have been confirmed. So if you have news on Cyan update for Lumia 920 in other countries, please don’t hesitate to share it with us in the comments section.

Keep in mind that this update is for the unlocked version of Nokia Lumia 920, so if you own a carrier-branded unit, you may already have it installed or you will have to wait a little longer until your operator approves the upgrade.

Nokia Lumia 920 was one of the first smartphones to receive the Lumia Cyan update, but only in several countries. For some unknown reasons, the update has been halted for a few weeks, but now it looks like Microsoft is back full Steam ahead with the rollout of Windows Phone 8.1 for Lumia 920.

It’s also worth mentioning that Windows Phone 8.1 and Lumia Cyan are two different things that sometime may not come together. Some users who already upgraded to Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview are still waiting for their Lumia Cyan update.

Also, if you own an HTC smartphone powered by Windows Phone, then you don’t qualify for Lumia Cyan, which is exclusively available on Nokia smartphones.

If you managed to capture the Windows Phone 8.1 and Lumia Cyan updates on your Lumia 920 and live in a country other than those mentioned in the article, please let us know in the comments section.
