We reported yesterday that Microsoft confirmed plans to fix the “Other” storage bug affecting all smartphones powered by Windows Phone 8 platform.

The issue affects the storage of Windows Phone 8 devices as the operating system takes a small chunk of it and labels it as “other.”

Joe Belfiore has confirmed a fix for this problem is in the works, but we did not expect it to be ready so fast.

According to WMPoweruser firmware 1232.5957.1308.1004 for Nokia Lumia 920 has just been spotted on Navifirm and seems to address this issue.

Those who own a Lumia 920 device can load the new firmware build via Nokia Care Suite.

The new changes included in the update will allow users to clean out temporary files manually or set the phone to do it automatically at regular intervals.
