Nokia’s flagship Windows Phone handset, the Lumia 900, is expected to make an appearance on shelves in the UK in the next two weeks, at least this is what online retailer Amazon UK claims.

The smartphone is currently listed on the retailer’s website as up for pre-order, featuring an availability date of May 14th, 2012.

Amazon notes that the launch date is subject to change, but we can still expect for the handset to arrive in the near future.

The Nokia Lumia 900 is available for reservations SIM-free and unlocked and sports a price tag of £479.99 ($780 / 590 Euro).

Packing a sleek, slim body, the Lumia 900 was made available for purchase in the United States in early April, and enjoyed strong initial sales.

The device is expected to prove as popular in other markets around the world as well, although Nokia hasn’t yet officially announced which countries are bound to receive it.

Nokia designed the smartphone with a 4.3-inch touchscreen display and with a fast application processor inside, while keeping the same design found on Nokia N9 and Lumia 800.

The smartphone also includes an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for recording HD videos, along with 16GB of internal memory, WiFi, Bluetooth and other connectivity options.

“The slim body is sleek, smooth, and feels fabulous. It's matched to a 4.3" AMOLED ClearBlack glass touchscreen to give you more of the picture, and there's an 8 MP camera for taking sharp photos and HD video too,” Amazon notes.

“With the one-piece polycarbonate body you'll also get excellent antenna performance and great reception for clear calls and reliable data connections.”

Nokia Lumia 900 was launched in Black, Cyan and White and is expected to become available in Magenta as well in the not too distant future, although Nokia did not officially confirm it.
