Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has just announced the availability of a new software update for its Lumia 900 devices on the airwaves of wireless carrier AT&T in the United States.

The new firmware brings along a series of improvements for various aspects of the device, and it is based on feedback that has been received from users.

Lumia 900 arrived on shelves a few months ago, and users have already had enough time to discover any issues that it might have.

“As we’re committed to providing an amazing customer experience, today we are announcing a series of upgrades and enhancements for the Nokia Lumia 900 on AT&T’s network in the United States,” a post on Nokia Conversations reads.

“These enhancements address some of the feedback that has been provided to us from Lumia 900 owners over the past couple of months.”

Those who own a Lumia 900 can download and install the new OS upgrade on their devices either through the Zune software on their Windows PCs, or via the Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac. The videos embedded below will offer you more info on this.

One of the main enhancements included in the new software update would be the removal of the purple hue which was found to affect the screen of some devices when in low light conditions.

Additionally, the new firmware comes with better sensitivity for the proximity sensor, and it also features a series of other minor adjustments and enhancements.

At the moment, the update can be installed only on the Nokia Lumia 900 handset on AT&T’s network in the United States, the aforementioned blog post reads.

However, the leading mobile phone maker also announced that there would be some other updates pushed out for the Lumia 900 smartphone in the near future, and that they will come to all devices. There will be some surprises too for the owners of this device, it seems.
