One of the details that Microsoft unveiled yesterday during its Windows Phone 8 launch was that existing devices won’t receive the new OS, but that they would be getting a set of features it includes.

The software giant mentioned the new Start screen on Windows Phone 8, with is resizable live tiles, but detailed no other enhancement.

According to Nokia, the Windows Phone 7.8 release, as the update will be called, will arrive with all the new features that are not tied to hardware.

Moreover, the company let it slip in a tweet that the software might be pushed to Lumia 900 devices in the next several weeks, though it bounced back and affirmed that the mention was actually referring to the Tango update.

One way or the other, the Nokia Lumia 900 is set to taste these enhancements, which look pretty good on it, as the video above shows, courtesy of WMPoweruser.
