Nokia announced earlier this week that Lumia 900, which was previously confirmed in the United States via AT&T, would be available in other regions as well.

However, the news does not come as a surprise, especially given the hype that Nokia built around this Windows Phone device.

Nokia Lumia 900 is expected to arrive in the United States on March 18, while the European version was slated for a May release.

Nokia’s CEO, Stephen Elop, confirmed during the Finnish company’s press event at the Mobile World Congress 2012 that Nokia Lumia 900 would be available in Europe within the next few months.

Initial rumors pointed to a possible May release in the UK, but SoMobile found out that Nokia Lumia 900 might arrive earlier than expected.

It appears that UK-based retailer Mobile Fun has just listed the smartphone with an April 9 release date attached to it. The retailer has yet to announce the SIM free Lumia 900’s price.

Unlike the US version, Lumia 900 that will be released in Europe lacks LTE capability, but it will offer HSDPA support, which allows for download speeds of up to 42Mbps.

The rest of the features seem to be similar, including the hyper-vibrant 4.3-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution. It is also worth mentioning the phone’s display is based on Nokia ClearBlack technology and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

Hardware-wise, the smartphone packs a 1.4 GHz single-core Qualcomm APQ8055 Snapdragon processor, an Adreno 205 graphics processing unit, 16GB of internal memory as well as 512MB of RAM.

Another strong point of the Mango-based handset is the impressive 8-megapixel rear camera that features Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, dual-LED flash, and HD (720p) video recording. Nokia Lumia 900 also features a secondary 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.
