Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has made another Windows Phone handset official in China, namely the flagship Lumia 900.

The mobile phone was formally introduced during an event on June 9th, held at the Joy City mall, located in the Xidan block of Beijing.

The company invited the popular singer / dancer Han Geng at the launch, and the event reportedly proved a massive success. You can have a look at photos from the launch on WPDang.

You can watch a promo video for the Chinese version of the smartphone at the bottom of this article, featuring said singer, and sporting the tag line “There’s no ordinary life, just ordinary people.”

Reportedly, Nokia also decided to rebrand the Lumia device for China, calling it “非凡,” which means “extraordinary” in English.

The Lumia 900 became available for purchase in China yesterday, and it is expected to prove a successful device, especially considering the large number of people who attended the launch event.

Nokia’s Windows Phone shipments haven’t been that great so far, but the availability of these handsets in more markets around the world should boost sales.

Nokia launched other Windows Phone devices in China as well, including the Lumia 800, its very first device powered by Microsoft’s mobile operating system.

Lumia 900 was made official in early 2012 with a large 4.3-inch touchscreen display and a 1.4GHz application processor inside.

The smartphone features 16GB of internal memory (without the possibility to expand it via microSD cards), and 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back with HD video recording capabilities, and a front camera for making video calls.

However, the main selling point of the smartphone is the Windows Phone platform and all the features and services it has to offer to its users, including fast access to social networking updates, support for editing Office documents on the go, and access to appealing games via Xbox Live.
