Along with its first selfie smartphone, the Lumia 730, Microsoft is expected to announce one other mid-range Windows Phone at IFA 2014, namely the Nokia Lumia 830.

Unlike the Lumia 730, which is aimed at consumers who prefer smartphones with a very good front-facing camera in order to take selfies, Nokia Lumia 830 targets photographers who can’t afford the Lumia 1020.

Unfortunately, there weren’t too many details available on the Lumia 830 specs, though some info leaked a few weeks ago, such as the fact that the Windows Phone handset would pack a PureView camera.

Nokia Lumia 830 was spotted for the first time in an official document about a week ago, when the phone was certified by Anatel, the Brazilian regulatory commission.

Since then, no other pictures or info on the smartphone’s specs sheet emerged online. Today, WMPoweruser reports Chinese blog WPDang claims that the Lumia 830 will come with a 10-megapixel PureView rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.

Nokia has proven many times before that the number of megapixels does not really matter for a camera phone, and that the imaging processing software and the component included on the module are more important.

This is why we think that a camera-centric Nokia smartphone which packs a 10-megapixel camera might be a lot better than other high-end handsets with larger cameras.

The same source familiar with Microsoft’s roadmap for the next few months reports that Nokia Lumia 830 will be equipped with a more than decent quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. Although we don’t have any details on the CPU’s clock, we expect the smartphone to pack a 2.2GHz processor.

Nokia Lumia 830 is slated to be the thinnest Lumia smartphone to be available on the market and it will feature a metal frame. Sadly, no additional details on the phone’s size and weight have been leaked yet.

Obviously, the smartphone will ship with the latest version of the Windows Phone operating system out of the box, though we’re not sure when the Lumia 830 will go on sale.

We also know the phone’s capacitive touchscreen display will support HD (720p) resolution. No word on the size, but we believe more details will certainly be revealed at launch.

Speaking of which, Nokia Lumia 830 is likely to be officially unveiled during Microsoft’s IFA 2014 press conference scheduled for September 4.

We will keep an eye out for any additional info on the matter, so stay tuned for more details on Nokia’s new mid-range handset.
