Windows Phone 8 Portico update has been rolled out onto Lumia devices for quite a while now, but Verizon's Lumia 822 has been left out from the initial deployment.

CNET reports Nokia and Verizon have finally kicked off the rollout of the Portico update for Lumia 822. The update is pushed OTA (over the air) in stages, so Lumia 822 owners should be notified on the update.

Portico introduces some new messaging features and several improvements that will make user's experience much smoother.
There's improved performance for both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as support for more microSD card models.
Nokia Lumia 822 users will now be able to edit multimedia messages when forwarding, but also select multiple recipients for a message. A new option that allows users to ignore calls with a text message reply has been added too.
