Nokia Lumia 820 was officially announced earlier this month by US-based carrier T-Mobile. However, it appears that O2 UK will carry the smartphone as well.

WPCentral has just published a photo of a Nokia Lumia 820 dummy unit that has just arrived at O2 UK. Even though the carrier confirmed the upcoming availability of several Windows Phone 8 devices, the Lumia 820 was not among these smartphones.

O2 UK is expected to launch the Nokia Lumia 920, HTC 8X, HTC 8S and Samsung Ativ S. The Lumia 820 would be the fifth Windows Phone 8 device that will go on sale at O2 UK, so customers will be offered quite a large portfolio to choose from.

With a few important exceptions, Lumia 820 has the same features as Nokia’s Windows Phone flagship smartphone, the Lumia 920.

While Nokia Lumia 920 boasts an incredible 4.5-inch PureMotion HD+ display that supports 768 x 1280 pixels resolution, Lumia 820 sports only a 4.3-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

However, the Lumia 820 packs 8GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), whereas the Lumia 920 embeds 32GB of storage but no microSD card slot.

Other highlight of the Nokia Lumia 820 include an impressive 8-megapixel rear photo snapper with Carl Zeiss Tessar lens, autofocus, dual LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

The smartphone is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon processor built on Krait architecture, which is complemented by an Adreno 225 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

Last but not least, the Lumia 820 offers LTE, HSPA+ (42Mbps) and HSUPA support, along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.1, NFC (Near Field Communication) and microUSB.
