Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia is set to make its first Windows Phone devices available for purchase for as many users as possible.

Thus, the company has decided to push the Nokia Lumia 800 smartphone to all wireless carriers in Sweden, and is expected to make this move before the end of this month.

Starting with January 23rd, mobile phone users in Sweden will be able to purchase the first Windows Phone device from Nokia via whichever local carrier they would like.

The mobile phone is currently available for purchase in the U.K., Germany, Spain, France, Italy and the Netherlands, and is expected to become available in more of them in 2012.

The Espoo-based company already announced such plans and also said that it would kick-off mass-production of Windows Phones this year.

In 2011, only six countries got the Lumia 800, but the mobile phone was quite successful, it seems.

Early reports claimed great sales for the Windows Phone handset, and it appears that the momentum continues.

Lumia 800 is the Windows Phone flagship from Nokia, though it might not be in line with high-end devices that run under Android at the moment. To rival them, Nokia is expected to launch a Lumia 900 smartphone this year.

Even so, the specifications list of Lumia 800 is appealing. The mobile phone was launched with a 1.4GHz single-core application processor inside, as well as with a 3.7-inch touchscreen display.

There is also an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for HD video recording, as well as 16GB of internal memory.

Nokia Lumia 800 was also launched with the usual set of connectivity capabilities packed inside, including 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth features.

We should also note that the smartphone offers support for a variety of applications and services available for Microsoft’s Windows Phone OS, as well as for a series of such offerings coming from Nokia.
