Although both Lumia 710 and 800 smartphones are available in the UK for quite some time now, the handsets have just been introduced at Tesco Mobile.

Major retailer Tesco is now offering the Nokia Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 for free on select plans. For example, customers can grab the Lumia 800 for free on a £22.50/per month plan, which will offer 100 minutes, 5000 texts and 1GB of mobile data.

On the other hand, the Lumia 710 can be had for free with a £20/month plan, that will net customers 250 minutes, 5000 texts and 500MB of mobile data.

Both smartphones come with Windows Phone 7.5 operating system onboard. However, Microsoft plans to upgrade most Lumia smartphones to Windows Phone 7.8, probably by the end of the year.

Even though the smartphones are pretty much different when it comes to design, Lumia 800 and 710 have similar specs sheets with few exceptions.

The main difference is the main camera. While the Nokia Lumia 800 boasts an impressive 8-megapixel rear photo snapper with Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, dual-LED flash and HD (720p) video recording, the Lumia 710 only packs a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash.

It is also worth mentioning that Nokia Lumia 710 features 8GB of internal memory, whereas the Lumia 800 comes with a double amount of space storage, 16GB. Obviously, neither can be expanded via microSD memory card, due to the fact that both Windows Phone devices lack an external slot.

Other highlights of the smartphones includes 1.4 GHz single-core processors, 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen displays with Corning Gorilla Glass coating, 512MB of RAM, HSDPA and HSUPA support, as well as built-in GPS and microUSB.

Last but not least, Lumia 800 is powered by a 1450 mAh Li-Ion battery, while the Lumia 710 drains energy from a slightly smaller 1300 mAh Li-Ion battery.
