Nokia India officially introduced the Lumia series two weeks ago, but the handset manufacturer stated that both smartphones are expected to arrive in stores in mid-December.

True to its promise, the Finnish company has just announced that Nokia Lumia 800 and 710 are now available for pre-order via select Nokia Priority stores across the country.

According to folks at TheMobileIndian, customers who want to pre-order one of these Windows Phone devices are required to pay a booking amount of Rs 1,000 (20 USD or 15 EUR), in order to receive the Lumia 800 or 710 after about 10 days.

However, it appears that there’s a bit of misunderstanding between Nokia Priority stores regarding the booking amount, which may vary from store to store.

Anyway, potential customers should expect to be charged from Rs 500 (10 USD or 7 EUR) to Rs 3,000 (58 USD or 43 EUR), depending on the store.

Furthermore, the final pricing for the Nokia Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 has yet to be determined, but the latest hearsay point to a Rs 30,000 (585 USD or 435 EUR) price for the former, and Rs 19,000 (370 USD or 275 EUR), respectively.

Although both Lumia devices are powered by the latest mobile operating system launched by Microsoft, Windows Phone 7.5 Mango, the smartphones are aimed at different market segments.

The Lumia 800 can be considered Nokia’s flagship Windows Phone smartphone, whereas the Lumia 710 is a budget-friendly device.

The difference between the two handsets is also reflected in the hardware specs. While Lumia 800 packs 8GB of storage and an 8-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus and dual-LED flash, the Lumia 710 embeds only 8GB onboard memory and a 5-megapixel rear camera.

Each handset is equipped with a 1.4 GHz single core Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor, which is complemented by an Adreno 205 graphics processing unit.

The smartphones only accept microSIM cards and lack microSD card slots for memory expansion.
