True to its promise, Nokia is currently pushing the 12070 software update for more Lumia 800 devices around the world.

Initially available only for users in India and Singapore, the new software update is currently being pushed out to Nokia's Windows Phone devices in the UK as well.

Released as firmware SW 1600.2487.8107.12070, the update brings along increased battery standby and talk-time performance (some suggest that there would be a dramatic enhancement here), along with better bass in audio performance.

Additionally, the new software packs a fix for non-responsive screen when ending a call, Nokia notes.

As soon as the firmware becomes available for their devices, users will receive a notification on the matter. However, the update will have to be performed through a desktop computer, using the Zune PC software (or the Windows Phone Connector, if you plan on updating via a Mac).
