It looks like more and more important brands have started to discount their older products in India. LG, HTC and Samsung have already cut the price of some of their smartphones, which will probably be replaced by new models.

Indian site NDTV reports Nokia Lumia 800 has just been discounted and is now available for purchase for only Rs 18,867 (350 USD or 270 EUR) outright.

This is the second time the Lumia 800 is gets a price cut after it was launched in India for Rs 26,419 (490 USD or 380 EUR) outright.

For the time being, Indian retailer Saholic is the only one offering the Lumia 800 for such a low price, but others might follow soon. Check it out here.

Nokia Lumia 800 is expected to be replaced by Nokia’s new Windows Phone 8 devices, which is one of the main reasons the phone is now on sale.

The fact that the Finnish company did not offer Lumia 800 owners the possibility to upgrade their phones to Windows Phone 8 is a major downside.

However, Nokia stated that those who already purchased the smartphone will be able to get a glimpse of what Windows Phone 8 has to offer, by installing the Windows Phone 7.8 update, which has yet to be officially unveiled.

For the time being, Nokia Lumia 800 is shipped with Windows Phone 7.5 onboard. In addition, the smartphone packs a 1.4 GHz single-core Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor, along with an Adreno 205 GPU and 512MB of RAM.

It also sports a pretty decent 3.7-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution, and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

Another strong point of the phone is the 8-megapixel rear camera with Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus and dual-LED flash. Check out our full Nokia Lumia 800 review here.
