The first Windows Phone-based smartphone from Nokia

Canadian mobile phone carrier TELUS has just made available for purchase on its network a new Windows Phone device, none other than the Lumia 800 from Nokia.

The first smartphone that Nokia released on shelves with Microsoft’s mobile operating system is available in Canada for only $49.99 with the signing of a contract agreement.

On TELUS' website, it offers users the possibility to choose between three different color flavors, namely Black, Cyan and Magenta.

Those interested in the purchase of this mobile phone will also be able to grab it with the signing of a one-year contract agreement for $429.99, or with a one-year contract for $479.99. If purchased contract free, the device will cost $529.99.

With Nokia Lumia 800, which is exclusive to TELUS, users will benefit from the easy-to-use experience of Windows Phone packed inside a stylish and elegant design.

The main features of the new device include: - Beautifully designed, scratch resistant touchscreen and polycarbonate shell - Capture amazing photos and HD video in any light with the 8.0 MP Carl Zeiss Camera with dual LED flash and exposure compensation - New Windows Phone operating system with full Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn integration

Nokia Lumia 800 was made available for purchase with a 3.7” ClearBlack AMOLED display that can deliver a 480 x 800 pixel resolution, as well as with a 1.4GHz application processor inside.

On the back, the handset sports a 8MP Carl Zeiss photo snapper with LED flash and video recording capabilities, and was packed with 16GB of internal memory, without the possibility to expand it through a memory card slot.

The new device measures 116.5 x 61.2 x 12.1 mm and weighs 142 g. Its battery can deliver up to 7 hours of talk time or up to 17 days of standby time.

The handset arrives on shelves with support for 4G HSPA 850/900/1900/2100 networks, as well as with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities.
