14 DAY TRIAL // Optus, Telstra and Vodafone have already confirmed plans to carry the Nokia Lumia 800 in Australia. However, neither offered pricing options and release dates for the Windows Phone device.
Today, major carrier Optus announced it would offer the Lumia 800 on March 1 to all customers who pre-ordered the smartphone online.
The carrier also detailed all pricing options for Lumia 800, so customers who want to purchase the handset know what to expect and set their budgets accordingly.
Nokia Lumia 800 will be available for free on Optus $49 cap over 24 months, which will net subscribers no less than $550 worth of calls and texts, along with 1.5GB of mobile data and unlimited access to most popular social networking services, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, eBay, Foursquare and MySpace.
The smartphone will also be available on four different plan caps, $19, $29, $59 and $79. In addition, Optus will also offer the Lumia 800 on two Timeless plans, the $99 and $129.
It is also worth mentioning that Optus will offer the first two months of access for free to all customers who purchase the smartphone on any of the two Timeless plans, or $59 and $79 cap plans.
Nokia Lumia 800 will be available in four colors: cyan, magenta, white and black. Telstra and Vodafone will also offer the smartphone at some point, for a price that will be disclosed closer to launch.
In the same news, Optus also confirmed it would sell the entry-level Nokia Lumia 710 in Australia, along with Virgin Mobile, though there are no details on price tags and release dates.
Nokia Lumia 800 will be the first Windows Phone device launched by the Finnish handset maker in Australia. The Mango-based smartphone packs a 1.4 GHz single-core processor, a brilliant 3.7-inch AMOLED ClearBlack capacitive touchscreen, 16GB of internal memory and 512MB of RAM.
