Nokia’s integrated Drive app offers a great advantage over rival solutions

Microsoft has been long touting the amazing speed at which its Windows Phone devices can perform various tasks when compared to smartphones powered by rival platforms.

Regardless of them being high-end phones or customized devices, Android or iOS products have little chance to beat a Windows Phone in searching things on the web, loading photos on social networks or finding directions to points of interest.

Microsoft’s Smoked by Windows Phone campaign was built on this idea, and it became very popular all around the world.

This is why Nokia has decided to take it to the streets on its own to show what its Lumia handsets have to offer when compared to other devices out there.

In the video embedded below, you will see a Nokia Lumia 800 smartphone easily beating an Apple iPhone 4 in a small challenge that involves finding turn-by-turn directions to the London Eye.

Nokia’s Windows Phone was able to deliver the needed information in only 15.24 seconds, while the iPhone was still searching for it.

“Up for a challenge? Find out where we end up as the Nokia Lumia 800 goes up against the iPhone 4 en route to one of London's top landmarks. In today's Apps challenge the Nokia Drive app shows us how you can access free turn-by-turn voice guided navigation,” Nokia notes in video’s description.

“You can even pre-load maps so it work's [sic] when your signal doesn't. With more than 100 countries across 6 continents, you'll never get lost again. Unless you want to.”

Nokia’s own navigation app provides Lumia users with a great advantage when compared to what the iPhone has to deliver, that’s for sure. Apple’s users need a third-party app to receive turn-by-turn navigation features.

The owner of the iPhone 4 was given a brand new Nokia Lumia 800, along with a poster to state her decision to upgrade to a Nokia Windows Phone.
