14 DAY TRIAL // Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia is expected to make its first Windows Phone devices available for purchase starting with November 16th in the UK market, the latest reports on the matter suggest.
At least the Nokia Lumia 800 will make it to the UK market on that day, as the handset vendor has already confirmed.
The price tag the new device might feature when released in the country was reportedly set at £399 ($635 / 465 Euros). Last week, Nokia said that the phone would be pushed to shelves in Europe priced at €420 (around $575).
Starting with November 16th, British users will have the opportunity to purchase the first Windows Phone from Nokia, only one day before Google and Samsung make the Galaxy Nexus available for purchase.
The Nokia Lumia 800 packs a 3.7-inch touchscreen AMOLED ClearBlack display that can deliver a 480 x 800 pixels and is powered by a 1.4GHz application processor (a Qualcomm MSM8255 WCDMA chip).
The Windows Phone device also includes an 8-megapixels photo snapper on the back, with support for HD video recording capabilities, complemented by a front-facing camera to enable video calling.
The new mobile phone also comes with 512MB of RAM inside, as well as with 16 GB of mass memory (no slot for micro-SD cards).
The Nokia Lumia 800 also arrives on shelves with WiFi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR connectivity capabilities, as well as with 3.5mm AHJ connector and USB 2.0 High-Speed port.
The BV-5JW 3.7V 1450mAh battery that Nokia packed inside it should offer up to 13 hours of talk time, or up to 335 hours of standby time.
Nokia's Windows Phone will land on the market with various new applications and services packed inside, including some new software exclusive to Nokia's devices for the time being.
Some of these apps and services include Nokia Maps, Bing Maps, Nokia Drive, Nokia Music, Bing, Internet Explorer 9, as well as fast access to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, email, Chat, SMS via the People Hub in Windows Phone.
