There have been rumors running around that Microsoft is now working to bring on the market a selfie-centric smartphone that would sport an impressive front-face camera.

Aside from the fact that it would come with a powerful secondary camera in the front, nothing much has been known about the phone except that it will be aimed at mid-range segment of the market.

And what better way to introduce such a phone than as the Lumia 720, which is the perfect example of a mid-range smartphone. Although not as popular as its entry-level sibling, the Lumia 520, which is the best-selling Windows Phone handset to date, Nokia Lumia 720 is quite a decent device for those looking for an inexpensive smartphone.

AdDuplex, the cross-promotion network for Windows Phone and Windows 8 applications has just release an interesting infographic that contains data on Windows Phone ecosystem.

Not deep enough inside the data is a list of new Windows Phone devices that haven't been released on the market yet, but some of them have already been announced by owners of the brands.

One of the devices in this list is the Nokia RM-983, which also appears listed as Nokia RM-984 and RM-985. It's almost certain that this is the same handset but appears listed in three different variants, possibly depending on the region and carrier.

According to NokiaPowerUser, this is in fact Nokia Lumia 720's successor, which is supposed to pack an enhanced front-facing camera for selfies.

Even though we only know the smartphone by its codename, there's a high chance that this will be launched on the market sometime this year as Nokia Lumia 730. However, this is just a pure guess, so take it as such.

The alleged Nokia Lumia 730 should be a mid-range Windows Phone 8.1 device, so it will come with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit, and a more than decent 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution.

As mentioned earlier, it should have a “big selfie cam” in front, as well as a no less impressive 8-megapixel photo snapper in the back with Carl Zeiss lens and low-light improvements.

The smartphone will have a “slightly altered design from Lumia 720” and is expected to be launched in August. Unfortunately, it's unclear whether or not the smartphone will be released on the market in August or Microsoft will only unveil the device around that timeframe.

That's about it on the Lumia 720 successor, but we will keep a close eye on any additional details on the matter, so stay tuned for more info.
